Itineraries: Paris
A Week in Paris
My love and I met at the stroke of 7pm in the middle of Lover’s Bridge in Paris. I was so nervous, I hid on the other side and called my best friend from 6th grade. “What am I doing meeting a man for a week in Paris who I only spoke to for 10 minutes 6 weeks ago! This is CRAZY!!!” But my wise friend said simply, “Meet him as you planned. You will just cross that bridge when you come to it.” And indeed, I am so thrilled I did!
Michel planned such an enchanting and full week for us!
Highlights included:
Mint Tea at the Hamam in the middle of the city
Tea at the Marriage Freres tea house
Follies Bergers
Walking along the Seine
Feasting on Crepes, gallettes, and Croques Madames galore.
Lying in the grass at Jardins de Plantes
Seeing a one woman show How to Be Parisienne.
We stayed at a hotel and an airbnb so we got to explore 2 different neighborhoods.
Part 2
The Pompidu is a wonderful playground with color and invention. I was there in 8th grade when it just opened! How fun to come back now, 35 years later.
Part 3
Ah, Sacre Couer, The church on the hilltop by Montmartre built by Napoleon III.
Part 4
Of course I look like a tourist in my beret - but how can I not revel in feeling tres francaise! Even if it just makes me look like even more of a tourist?
